Walking the Streets.
Walking the streets is one of my favourite things to do in a city. I’m always amazed at what you see and what you can photograph. You can really get a good pulse of a city by taking in the details from the streets.
The key is that you have to pay attention. This is particularly the case in your own city. We naturally have a tendency to pay more attention when abroad but walking the streets of your own city and keeping your senses tuned will allow you to get great unique photographs.
For me, the lighter and more compact the gear the better. I typically walk around with my Sony A7 and one or two prime lenses. First, I blend in well and don’t attract attention. Second, I find I’m more inclined to take my camera everywhere when I’m not carrying a ton of heavy gear. It goes back to the classic saying “the best camera is the one that’s with you”
Enjoy and go walk your streets!
